Rock Crusher Crawler Chassis for Crawler King
The Rock Crusher is East End Machining’s latest Wheely King/ Crawler King Crawler Chassis.
It is a heavy duty TVP design, built around our competition proven AX10 Dual Triangulation Delrin Skidplate. The chassis can mount any of our AX10 line Delrin skidplates (SC-022; SC-013). Including blank skidplates(SC-022 Blank; SC-013 Blank) for custom operations.
The kit includes an aluminum adapter plate (not shown) to adapt a sideways mounted Wheely King transmission to an AX10 skidplate. After mounting the transmission in the laid over position the motor is relocated using our motor clocking plate (included in kit). It has been designed to run with shocks slightly shorter than stock. The stock shocks can be utilized by installing a ½ in long piece of fuel line (included in kit) under the piston to limit travel.
The rock crusher is based on the Crawler King but can be built on a Wheely King that has the HPI Crawler kit or similar installed.
You will need to use either E-Savage driveshafts or Traxxas Drivelines and Yokes(TRX-4951X, TRX-4828X)any of which are not included in the kit.
The Rock Crusher has predrilled mounting holes to accept our AX10 Velcro Body Mount Kit (SC-008---Available separately). You will need to purchase SC-012D Body Mount posts to mount the body mount kit.
Due to the varied preferences when it comes to upper links we have opted to keep the basic chassis price down by not including them. However we do offer a 4 link kit (WKA-055) that has been designed to work with the Rock Crusher chassis, and is available for purchase in our webstore.
The Rock Crusher is a very capable crawler. On the incline board we pulled 63 degrees before we started to loose traction. Our test rig showed no signs off pulling back. We set our ride height at approx. 3 inches. This gave us close to 65 degrees of articulation, which is about all you really need. Any less and you will have trouble passing too many obstacles, more and you run much higher chances of getting hung up in binds as you would with any crawler.
The chassis design lends itself to many set ups and can be dialed in to suit each drivers needs, personal taste & driving style. Belly heights ranging from 2 inches to 3 ½ are possible depending on link and shock configuration. Articulation is also adjustable all the way up to 90 degrees, again depending on link and shock configurations.
